Well, Turkey have started airstrikes against the Kurds in Syria. I wonder what Donald Trump's infinite and unmatched wisdom is currently telling him... n/t

Don't worry. I'm in no doubt at all that the thousands of Labour members will give them just as much support as they do the Palestinians

Kurds want their own country, looks like America is helping them get it by whatever stupid means. Hopefully Turkey stands it's ground.

why shouldn't they have an independent Kurdistan. Surely if there are few good muzzies then you stand behind them rather than some Putin backed cunt who wants to create a new Ottoman Empire and murder a load of innocents?

because it means turkey surrendering some of their land to what would presumably be another US ally in the region. and probably something to do with oil pipelines or somesuch

I think I'd rather that than them be expansionist themselves in the region. We should be bending over backwards for them and Israel, surrounded by murderous filth and doing our dirty work.

Surely Turkey "standing their ground" would mean remaining inside their own borders, though?

yes but the kurds are not divided by country, they are in a specific region that spans eastern turkey and syria etc. so the endgame in all this is to carve some of turkey and syria off for a kurdistan. it'll happen in return for some sort of presence or payback in the region to the US.

Which would be understandable, except for the fact that the Kurds the Turks are currently attacking are inside Syria, not Turkey

But he’s just doing what’s best for his people. That’s what Simon Milner told me anyway. Based on him having absolutely no knowledge of the situation whatsoever

I'm sure he is a huge fan of Trump being about to pull out of the Open Skies Treaty. Nevermind the knock-on effect in the whole middle East in general and Israel in particular concerned with the trustworthiness of the uninformed, isolationist great orange stain. nt
