This may be a bit ‘Jon’ but you should realise that check in staff and cabin crew have virtually no say in handing out upgrades these days. You will be given a customer value score based on the data the airline holds about you and if operational upgrades are needed there is a priority list generated. Even then it would only be used if they can’t tempt enough people to pay online or at the airport and the algorithms won’t prioritise the same people all the time, even real lords.
