Well compromised in the sense that, whatever they had over them, associating with a convicted child trafficker was preferable to whatever they’ve been up to, being revealed. That’s a fairly high bar. My assumption would be that there’s a huge “in for a penny” element to it, once they knew they had the intel hanging over them.
