Tottenham threatens with a 'Juande Ramos Second Part'

Few Sevillistas have forgotten what happened in Seville's Calle San Fernando and, specifically, in the Hotel Alfonso XIII in August 2007. One of the hardest blows that Sevilla FC has suffered in recent years was created there. Juande Ramos led a champion team, which had won four titles in thirteen months and had aspired to LaLiga - the famous penalty not called by Iturralde - until the last day. But Tottenham crossed his path and on that fateful night he closed his march to English football, something that would come two months later.

Sevilla would still win another title 48 hours after that meeting, with an exhibition at the Bernabéu (3-5). But a few days later the sad death of Antonio Puerta happened after the first day of the League, the team accused him in the league start and, finally, Juande Ramos would end up leaving at the end of October, being replaced by Manolo Jiménez.

That team would still manage to get into the Champions League the following year and even win the Cup in 2010, but its level gradually dropped until its resurgence in 2013 began.

The point is that Tottenham is back under its jurisdiction and has set its sights on Sevilla and, specifically, on its coach, whom it has on the list of coaches it is considering for next season. It is not the first option, but the shadow of Juande Ramos is there again. Although the current circumstances are not the same either, Julen Lopetegui is not in the same situation as the La Mancha coach and Sevilla is not afraid that that departure will be repeated.

The Gipuzkoan coach recently renewed until 2024 , he has planned the next season and aspires to achieve great achievements with the Nervionense team.
